arabian_villaDavid vs. Goliath

MARCH, 2016

We live in a Senior mobile home park in Clovis, California and represent over 200 residents in Arabian Villa & Campus Corral Senior Mobile Home Parks in Clovis. Our park residents are currently in a fight against the park owners (literally a David vs. Goliath) to increase our space rent between $100 and $110 per month per space.

The Board of Directors of our Residents Association and Chapter 1324 are leading the residents in filing with the City of Clovis in order to KEEP our park under Rent Control. The park owners want to increase our rents $100.00 to $110.00 per month / per home.

Most of our residents are on fixed Social Security incomes. They can not afford such a drastic increase. We have reports of many skipping meals and cutting medication doses in half, just to stretch their income a little.

Nearly ninety percent of our residents live solely on their Social Security income and did NOT receive a cost of living raise this year. After paying their existing rent, many have less than $200 per month to cover their everyday expenses like food, gas, insurance and medications.

We are working very hard to raise funds for the filing fees with the City of Clovis and our attorney.
