Jamie Rodriguez, Vice President Zone B-1

I am a Native Californian, born and raised in San Joaquin and Sacramento Counties.  I retired from DLA after working 23 years in shipping and transportation, rating & routing. 

In 2009 I became the park newsletter editor and, looking for something to get involved with, my neighbor invited me to a GSMOL Chapter meeting.  That was it!  I decided I need to know more about living in a manufactured home and park.  It didn’t take long before I met GSMOL Co-Regional Manager, Marie Pounders.  She invited several volunteers interested in coming together.  With the Santa Barbra County Closure/Conversion Ordinance coming up, Marie began mapping out a training plan, to educate residents breaking down the information & comparing data.  We recruited supporters for the Santa Barbara County Closure/Conversion Ordinance, reaching out to all parks in North Santa Barbra.  The new Coalition North Santa Barbara Manufactured Home Owners Team (NSBMHT) board members all worked together to accomplish this task. I was in charge of Outreach in N. Santa Barbara County.  I posted flyers and information in all the parks, Santa Maria, Lompoc, Los Alamos, Buellton, Solvang and Santa Ynez.  We held training meetings and once we were prepared, we reached out to all parks in NSBC. We held training and educational classes.  We attended the Santa Barbara County Meetings, with Testimonies in North SB and South SB at the Government Center.  In 2017 NSBMHT Rent Stabilization Subcommittee began with self-educating with history, breaking down Leases, and different kinds of rent Stabilization used in CA.  Then the committee members educated park residents providing history, breaking down rent Stabilization, inviting residents to attend City Council meetings, meeting council members providing them with education about manufactured homes in parks, reaching out Rent Stabilization in Santa Maria, we continue the fight. 

I accepted the Outreach Coordinator.  Marie provided lists of members to call and remind GSMOL members when their membership was due or past due.  In 2010 I accepted the Vice President position at Casa Grande Home Owners Inc., and I am still on the Board this year, accepting a Director position.  About 2015 I accepted the Assistant Manager for North Santa Barbara County.  In 2018 I accepted the Region 8 Manager, then as the Assistant Manager positions were filled I became Co-Region 8 Manager. In 2023 we put on the First GSMOL Conference here in North Santa Barbara County, and included visitors from San Luis Obispo County.  In 2024 I have now accepted Zone B-1 Vice President
