Sundance MHP Court Case Still in Limbo
May 28, 2015
“We do not expect anything this week from the North San Diego Superior Court Judge for our Sundance MHP appeal”, Chapter 1212 reports. “On Thursday, May 21st, we had already received an internet statement as a ‘preliminary decision’ against us (‘denied’), BUT [GSMOL Corporate Counsel] Bruce [Stanton] argued powerfully in Court on Friday, May 22nd, in our behalf, and the Judge said that he REREAD all of the Attorney’s arguments.”

Santa Barbara Fire Department Conducts Fire Drill at Flamingo MHP
May 20, 2015
“They simulated a scenario that Space #24 was fully engulfed in flames and they were to protect the homes on each side, #23 and #25”, reports Chapter 1102 board member Chris Barros. “Further, they simulated that they would not be able to drive the fire truck directly up to the home and that they would have to park a distance away and carry the fire hoses to the designated area. This scenario would apply if there was a road blockage or, as in many of the smaller parks around here, the roads are too narrow to maneuver the truck there. After the firefighters got the hoses in place they filled them with the water from the truck. One fire fighter explained that many mobilehome parks do not have fire hydrants within the park so they have to use the water from the truck.” [Ed. Note: Although Flamingo’s Chapter did not initiate this fire drill – it was set up by their Disaster Preparedness group – it is a good thing for Chapters to arrange with their local Fire Departments!]
