GSMOL Election 2026

Election for Members of the GSMOL Board of Directors

GSMOL is pleased to announce our biennial election for members of our State Board of Directors, and this year we are introducing electronic balloting!  Our members whose email addresses we have will receive a link and code to vote online.  See below for information regarding the candidates.

Information regarding the candidates running for re-election in 2026

Most people can make good assumptions about what the President does.  Our Bylaws say the President “directs the activities of the Corporation”.  That’s kind of a big job description, but our President runs the Board meetings, appoints committee chairs, and oversees the work of GSMOL throughout the state.  A good President would have the ability to think statewide but also jump in to help in areas where there are no local leaders.  Each President brings their own skills and interests to the job.   Current President Anne Anderson will be running in the election.

Each Zone Vice President oversees an area that covers about one-sixth of the state.  See the Contact Us page for a map that shows the Zones.  Ideally, we would have a Region Manager overseeing each of the Regions in the Zone, and Associate Managers assisting them, and Chapters and Super-Chapters uniting members in the parks, and the Zone VP would be at the top of the food chain.   The Zone VPs are members of the Board of Directors, which meets once a month by Zoom on the third Wednesday of the month.   Our current VP in Zone B-1, Jamie Rodriguez, is running in the election.  Jamie’s Zone includes Monterey, San Benito, Santa Cruz, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties.

VP at Large is a position whose duties usually depend upon the strengths and interests of the particular person holding the job.  Our current VP at Large, JoAnne Ventre, who is running in the election, is also the leader of the Legislative Action Team (LAT) and the Legislative Contacts (LCs) in the parks, and has been acting as ambassador for GSMOL to other like-minded organizations.

The VP for Resident Owned Communities is, of course, an expert on parks which are owned by their residents.  We would expect the person holding this position to have this expertise, to beat the drum for resident ownership, give presentations, counsel residents who are thinking of taking this important step, assist them with the process, and act as advisor to our members already living in ROCs.   Our current VP for ROC, David Loop, is running for re-election.
