Chapter 82 Reactivated at Blue Skies MHP
Residents at Blue Skies MHP held a meeting on November 3 in which they decided to reactivate their GSMOL chapter. Ten new members signed up, raising their membership from 3 to 13, and five people agreed to run for office (the usual four officers and a Membership Chair). After a week spent customizing their Bylaws, the officers were installed and the chapter reactivated by Associate Manager Anne Anderson on November 10. The new chapter members and other residents then had their first meeting, in which they discussed several park issues that they would begin working on together. Blue Skies is a family park with 100 spaces, tucked in between two other MH parks just outside of Santa Barbara. The park was a 55-and-over park to begin with, so there are no amenities for children. One of the issues they are struggling with is that the children have nowhere to play except in the streets, where they are in danger from drivers who don’t obey the speed linits.
