Legislative Action Team (LAT) Network

GSMOL helps to protect your investment in your home by standing up for your rights in the state Capitol!

GSMOL’s legislative advocacy combines the work of our professional lobbyist with the support of homeowners like you, tied together by our Legislative Action Team (LAT) Network of GSMOL leaders and members.

LAT Committee

The LAT network is headed by the LAT Committee, which is a steering committee that works with our Legislative Advocate (lobbyist) to develop the action plans for homeowner support or opposition for each bill.  Every GSMOL Zone has at least one representative sitting on the Committee.

Leadership Network

GSMOL’s network of Zone Vice Presidents, Region Managers, Associate Managers and Chapter Officers strengthens the communication between the LAT Committee and the members in the parks, to ensure that the issues that our members experience the most frequently are reported “up the line” while instructions for how members can help with our legislative efforts are brought “down the line”.

Legislative Contacts (LCs)

LCs are GSMOL members who represent their park in the LAT Network.   If a park has a GSMOL Chapter, the Chapter will appoint the LC.   In parks without a Chapter, an LC can be appointed by their GSMOL Associate Manager, Region Manager or Zone Vice President.  The LCs attend meetings with our lobbyist to learn the action plans for supporting or opposing State bills related to mobilehomes.

The LCs can also work locally with their Zone and Region leaders to represent the members in their park in city or county campaigns to enact beneficial ordinances such as Rent Stabilization Ordinances and Senior MHP Overlay Zoning, and to elect candidates to city or county offices who are sympathetic to MH owners.

We need an LC in EVERY park!!  If you or someone you know would like to be LC for your park, send an email on our Contact Us page.
